Reminiscence I & II was a listening and audio storytelling project that sought to examine gender complexities in India through interviews with men and women in New Delhi. The project was done in the aftermath of the horrific gang rape in New Delhi that shook the nation and the world in 2012.

Men and women of different age groups recalled experiences that felt gendered from their lives, going back and forth between childhood and adulthood in a series of intimate interviews. The artists wanted to take gender out of the abstract and into the particulars of lived experience, revealing complexities that contribute to the construction of gender and shed light on the systemic nature of gender based violence.
